Renewable energies: aerogeneration

Since a couple of decades ago, the planet has given us numerous signs that we are hurting it: abrupt temperature changes or abnormal changes in the area, melting poles or the extinction of several species of animals. It is very difficult to correct the deterioration, but it is possible to try to gradually reduce the factors that cause it, for example, separating the organic and inorganic waste and depositing it in its corresponding container, in order to extract the possible materials and recycle or reuse them.
and affect the travel of birds.

In recent years, the use of alternative or renewable energies has been growing. These replace or complement the most common, such as oil or nuclear, they are the ones that emit more waste and, in addition, are very expensive. The renewable energies that are most used in Spain are the following: hydraulics, which takes advantage of the fall of water; the photovoltaic and the solar thermal, which collect the energy of the sun, the first to transform it into energy and the second into heat; and the wind, which uses the force of the wind. On the other hand, we find other three less common: biomass energy, which uses biological resources, that is, organic animal and plant matter; the tidal wave, which generates energy from the movements of sea water; and geothermal, which benefits from the natural heat of the interior of the earth. This last modality is very common in countries like Iceland.

As we just mentioned, wind energy has the capacity to exploit the force of the wind, taking advantage when it goes at high speeds. This is achieved by devices consisting of a tower 60 meters high and three blades of 40. The mechanism works in the same way as a traditional windmill that was used to grind corn grains: the kinetic energy of the wind, is say, the movement, moves the blades of the wind turbine, and with its rotation they transform that force into mechanical energy. Then, a generator connected to the blades, using magnets and electromagnetic induction, causes an electrical voltage, or what is the same, electrical energy.

Wind energy, like any other, has advantages and disadvantages. The positive thing is that it is an inexhaustible source, because the wind is abundant and is available in almost all the world. Although the wind turbines are very large, their installation does not require a large area. Also, this can be restored without many problems if you decide to retire the wind farm. Of course, another advantage is that it does not pollute, as it does not produce toxic gases. In addition, its cost is very low. However, wind energy also has its disadvantages: although the wind is inexhaustible, it is not always active; the parks have a great impact on the landscape; and affect the travel of birds.

At MGN Rubber we support a future with renewable energy, that’s why we work in the wind turbine sector. If you have any questions or want information, do not hesitate to contact us.
